is DataLAN RPM?
RPM is a comprehensive
monitoring service that allows us to provide you with off-site preventative
maintenance.
DataLAN has
the ability to interface with computer systems to routinely monitor,
record, analyze and report system performance. We are able to monitor
unique trends and bring to your attention deficiencies in your data
storage, retrieval, storage space, and system resources. We provide
detailed reports and evaluations with recommendations for the implementation
of system securities and safeguards.

What
do you check on our server?
Windows Server
Event Viewer Application, System, and Security Logs are our primary
focus. If the Client has a server that has additional Event Viewer
Logs, (such as DNS) we will examine those logs during our “Remote
Control” sessions.
Your backup
method, quality, and frequency are also critical to the Client’s
server. We can monitor Windows Backup, Backup Exec, ARCServe / BrightStor,
and others.
Our tech's
will check over Anti Virus definitions or signature files. They will
check to see the status of weekly scheduled scans and their results.We
keep you updated to the most critical Windows updates that could
allow your system to be compromised. DataLAN will also monitor the
status of your hard disks and RAID Arrays.

How
often would you check our server?
Depending on
the plan that you choose, we will check at least every other week.
The remote monitoring will occur between 7am-7pm Eastern Time, Monday
thru Friday. RPM requires exclusive server availability for our
technicians, so if the Client’s server is not available at
the scheduled time of maintenance, DataLAN will try to connect at
least once more during that business day.

Can
you monitor another critical component of my network?
Yes. Some clients
have simple PCs that perform very important tasks, such as collecting
data from time a clock or managing the accounting package. DataLAN
can develop a custom-monitoring plan that meets your needs.

What
about our private and confidential data?
Any type of
data on your server is strictly confidential. DataLAN will not copy,
delete, or modify the Client’s data without prior written
consent. We will provide you with documentation and references that
will insure your complete protection.

How
can we afford this service?
If you're not
monitoring the items discussed on this page you cannot afford NOT
to have this service! Anti Virus programs that are not up to date
or tape drives that do not back up the right data can prove to be
